Taylor Ballantyne is a photographer and director from California. She studied at the BrooksInstitute of Photography in Santa Barbara and holds a BFA in Photography fromthe School of Visual Arts (SVA) in New York.
She began her career in Los Angeles with commercial and creativework in the fashion and design world. Shesegued into video production by shooting and editing behind-the-scenes films forNew York, Milan and Paris fashion weeks and later creating fashion-brandingfilms. She studied under celebrityphotographer Ken Regan as an assistant studio manager and first assistant atCamera 5 Inc. before joining Sports Illustrated (SI) where she currently worksas a photographer for all brands within SI.
In July 2017, she received her first national cover for SportsIllustrated; becoming one in an elite group of women to receive a nationalcover in the Magazine’s 60-year history. This February 2018, she produced andphotographed her first spread in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue — “InHer Own Words” - a powerful black-and-white series that will replaced Bodypaintfor the issue. This was the first black-and-white, no-swimsuit series with anall female crew put together by Ballantyne in the 54 year history of the SISwimsuit magazine. Ballantyne resides in New York City and continues to buildher portfolio and film reel by collaborating with designers, commercial brands,athletes and models.
